Get paid
When a listener purchases, 80% of the sale price goes directly to your Paystack account. No waiting period.
Powered by Paystack Subaccounts
We use Paystack's split-payment infrastructure. When a listener purchases your track, Paystack automatically routes funds: 80% to your Paystack Subaccount (linked to your bank) and 20% to The Flying Decksman. There is no escrow, no manual transfer, and no waiting for a payout day. Your money arrives with the purchase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Paystack account?
Yes. During artist onboarding you will provide your bank account details. We create a Paystack Subaccount for you, and all revenue is routed there automatically — no manual withdrawals or payout delays on our end.
When is the 20% platform fee charged?
The split happens at the moment of purchase. Paystack automatically routes 80% to your subaccount and 20% to the platform account. You never need to transfer anything manually.
What currency are prices set in?
All prices are set and paid in Kenyan Shillings (KES). You set your own price per track during upload.
Is there a minimum price I must charge?
There is no enforced minimum, but we recommend a minimum of KES 50 per track to ensure the Paystack transaction fees do not erode your earnings.
Can I offer tracks for free?
Free mixes can be uploaded by approved artists. Individual tracks in the store must have a price — free track downloads are not currently supported through the store.
Are there any other fees?
Paystack charges standard transaction fees on each purchase (typically 1.5% + KES 100 for local cards). These are deducted before the 80/20 split is applied.
How do I track my earnings?
Your Artist Dashboard shows real-time earnings, pending payouts, and total paid out. Every sale is logged with the track name, amount, and date.
What if my account is not yet approved?
Unapproved artist accounts can upload tracks but they will not be visible to the public. Once admin approves your profile, your catalogue goes live automatically.
